CRM field mapping
Match Salescheck.io fields to your CRM's fields.
To score a record, Salescheck.io needs to know which of your CRM's fields holds the country and which holds the industry (or MCC-equivalent) for that record. Most CRMs have an obvious default field for this, and Salescheck.io reads that automatically. Field mapping exists for the cases where your team doesn't use the default - a custom field, a renamed standard field, or a field that only exists on a related object.
Why mapping matters
Scoring rules match against country and industry values. If Salescheck.io is reading those values from the wrong field - or from a field that's empty because your team actually tracks that data elsewhere - it has nothing to match against, and the record scores as Unknown instead of Green, Yellow, or Red.
What the defaults look like per CRM
| CRM | Country | Industry |
|---|---|---|
| HubSpot | Company/Deal country property | Company/Deal industry property |
| Pipedrive | Organization's address country (Deals inherit it via their linked Organization) | No default - must be mapped to a custom field |
| Salesforce | Account BillingCountry (Opportunities inherit it via their linked Account) | Account Industry (inherited the same way) |
In Pipedrive and Salesforce, only the parent object (Organization or Account) carries country/industry - the child object (Deal or Opportunity) always follows whatever its parent resolves to, so you only need to set the mapping once, on the parent.
Setting or adjusting the mapping
In the top navigation, click CRM, then open the Field mapping section under your connected CRM.
Field mapping is shown per object (for example Companies and Deals in HubSpot, or Account in Salesforce).
Each dropdown shows a live list of the fields that actually exist on your CRM's object - including custom fields - so you're always picking from your real schema, not a guess.
The change applies immediately to records scored from that point on.
If a record has real country and industry data in your CRM but keeps coming back as Unknown, check field mapping first - Salescheck.io may simply be pointed at an empty or wrong field. See Unknown score results for the full list of causes and fixes.
