Syncing rules from Google Sheets (Beta)
Connect a sheet and keep a rule type synced automatically.
If your organization already manages its risk appetite in a Google Sheet, you can connect that sheet directly to a rule type instead of re-entering the same values in Salescheck.io. Once connected, the sheet becomes the source of truth for that rule type — edit the sheet, and your rules update on their own.
How it works
- You connect a Google account once, then pick a spreadsheet and map its columns for a specific rule type (Country, MCC, or NAICS).
- Salescheck.io re-checks the sheet on a schedule — roughly every 5 minutes — and applies any changes to that rule type automatically.
- While a rule type is sheet-synced, its rules become read-only in the manual Rules editor. The UI will say rules for that type are managed by a connected Google Sheet — edit the sheet instead.
- One connected Google account backs sync for all three rule types (Country, MCC, NAICS) that use it, even though each rule type is set up and synced independently.
Connecting a sheet
Switch to Country, MCC, or NAICS — sync is set up per type.
Look for "Real time sync with Google Sheets" above the rules table for that type.
Click Connect Google Sheets and authorize access. This only needs to be done once per organization.
Click Select from Google Drive and choose the sheet that holds your risk list for this rule type in the picker that opens, then map its columns to match value, risk category, and reason — the same fields a manual rule has. Category names in the sheet must match your existing risk categories.
Sync starts immediately, and the rule type switches to read-only in the manual editor.
Disconnecting
Disconnecting your Google account stops sync for every rule type using it — not just the one you're viewing — since one account backs all of them. After disconnecting, each affected rule type goes back to being manually editable, keeping whatever rules it last synced from the sheet.
