Connecting Sanctions.io

Where to find your Sanctions.io API Key and connect it to Salescheck.io.

This step can only be done by a user with the Admin or Compliance role in Salescheck.io. You'll need your own Sanctions.io account - Salescheck.io only uses your existing key to run lookups on your behalf.

What this connects

Sanctions.io screens a company or entity name against global sanctions and crime lists (e.g. OFAC SDN). It's triggered whenever a lookup or CRM record includes a company name.

Steps

1
Sign up or log in

Go to api.sanctions.io/users/signup to create a free trial account (no card required), or api.sanctions.io/users/login if you already have one. Confirm your account via the activation email if you're signing up.

2
Find your API Key

Once logged in, your dashboard shows both a sandbox key and a production key. Copy your production API Key - that's what Salescheck.io needs to run real lookups.

3
Paste it into Salescheck.io

In Salescheck.io, go to Integrations, find the Sanctions.io card, paste the key into the API Key field, and click Connect.

4
Map signals to risk categories

Once connected, map "Sanctions match found" to whatever category matches your risk appetite - usually Red. "No match found" is typically left unmapped (no effect on scoring).

We don't verify the key until it's actually used for a lookup - a bad or expired key just causes that provider's check to be skipped for that lookup; local rule-based scoring keeps working regardless.
