Connecting Salesforce

How to link Salescheck.io to your Salesforce org and show the compliance score directly on Account and Opportunity records.

This step can only be done by a user with the Admin role in Salescheck.io. No setup on the Salesforce side is needed beforehand - you'll just log in and approve access when prompted.

What happens after you connect

Salescheck.io automatically creates two new custom fields in your Salesforce org - Compliance Score (Compliance_Score__c) and Compliance Reason (Compliance_Reason__c) - on both the Account and Opportunity objects. You don't need to create these fields manually.

Connection steps

1
In Salescheck.io, go to the CRM tab

In the top navigation, click CRM, then click the Connect Salesforce button.

2
Log in to Salesforce and approve access

You'll be redirected to Salesforce's login page, then asked to allow Salescheck.io the requested access. Click Allow.

3
Done

You'll be redirected back to Salescheck.io, and you'll see "Salesforce connected" next to Salesforce.

Score updates are not instant.
Unlike HubSpot and Pipedrive, Salesforce has no way for Salescheck.io to receive a live push notification when a record changes without your admin building custom Salesforce automation (Platform Events / Outbound Messages), which is outside what a Connected App can set up on its own. Instead, Salescheck.io checks for changed Accounts and Opportunities every 5 minutes and scores/writes back anything new. If you just created or edited a record, allow a few minutes for the Compliance Score/Reason fields to update.
Your Salesforce admin must grant field-level security on the two new fields.
Brand-new custom fields in Salesforce start out visible to nobody - not even most admins - until Field-Level Security (FLS) is explicitly granted. Salescheck.io grants itself read/write access automatically (so our writes work), but your sales reps won't see the fields on records until your admin does this once: Setup → Object Manager → Account (and again for Opportunity) → Fields & Relationships → open Compliance Score (and Compliance Reason) → Set Field-Level Security → check Visible for whichever profiles or permission sets should see it. This is standard Salesforce admin work required for any new custom field from any app - not something specific to Salescheck.io, and not something we can do on your behalf without knowing your org's profile structure.

How country and industry are determined

Account scoring reads Salesforce's standard BillingCountry and Industry fields directly. An Opportunity doesn't carry geography or industry of its own - it's linked to an Account, so Salescheck.io automatically follows that link and scores the Opportunity using its linked Account's BillingCountry/Industry.

If your org tracks either on a different Account field - a custom field, or a renamed standard one - open the Field mapping section under Salesforce in the CRM tab. It lists every field on Account (via a live describe call, so it always matches your actual schema) so you can point Country and/or Industry at the right one. Since Opportunity always follows its Account, mapping it once here covers both objects.

Showing the fields on a record page

New fields don't automatically appear on the Account/Opportunity page layout - that's standard Salesforce behavior for any new custom field. To see them on the record page:

1.Open any Account (or Opportunity) record and click the gear icon → Edit Page (Lightning App Builder).
2.Drag the Compliance Score and Compliance Reason fields onto the layout.
3.Save and activate the page.

The fields can also be used outside the page layout - in list views, reports, and filters, just like any other Salesforce field, once FLS is granted (see above).

What the values mean

🟢 Green - no flags found 🟡 Yellow - needs attention 🔴 Red - high risk ⚪ Unknown - not enough data

Green means "no geography/industry red flags found" - not that the company is confirmed clean. Unknown means the basic input (country or industry) was missing, so no score was computed at all.

Disconnecting

In the CRM tab, click Disconnect next to Salesforce. This only deletes the stored access token and stops the 5-minute polling for your org - the Compliance Score/Reason fields created in your Salesforce org stay in place.
