Connecting HubSpot
How to link Salescheck.io to your HubSpot account and show the compliance score directly on Company and Deal records.
What happens after you connect
Salescheck.io automatically creates two new fields in HubSpot - Compliance Score and Compliance Reason - on the Company and Deal objects. You don't need to set these up manually.
Connection steps
In the top navigation, click CRM, then click the Connect HubSpot button.
You'll be redirected to HubSpot. If you have access to more than one portal, choose the one you want to connect.
HubSpot will show what Salescheck.io is requesting access to (reading/writing Company and Deal records and their properties). Click Connect app.
Salescheck.io isn't published on the HubSpot Marketplace yet, so HubSpot always shows this standard security warning for non-public apps - this is expected. To continue, type exactly
I accept the risk into the field and confirm.
You'll be redirected back to Salescheck.io, and you'll see "HubSpot connected" next to HubSpot. From this point on, every newly created Company and Deal is automatically scored and written back to HubSpot.
How country and industry are determined
By default, scoring reads HubSpot's own country and industry properties on the
Company/Deal record. If your team tracks these on a different property instead - a custom field, or one
you've renamed - open the Field mapping section under HubSpot in the CRM tab and pick the right
property from a live list of everything on your portal. This is per object type, so Company and Deal can
each point at a different property if needed.
Showing the field on a company record
New fields don't automatically appear on the main record card in HubSpot - that's standard HubSpot behavior for any new custom field, not something specific to ours. To see them directly on the Company/Deal overview, add them to the card layout once:
| 1. | Open any Company (or Deal). |
| 2. | In the left panel, click Customize record / Customize. |
| 3. | Add the Compliance Score and Compliance Reason fields to the card. |
| 4. | Save - the card layout applies to your whole team, not just you. |
The fields can of course also be used outside the card - in list columns, filters, workflows, and reports, just like any other HubSpot field.
What the values mean
Green means "no geography/industry red flags found" - not that the company is confirmed clean. Unknown means the basic input (country or industry) was missing, so no score was computed at all.
Disconnecting
In the CRM tab, click Disconnect next to HubSpot. This only deletes the stored access token - the Compliance Score/Reason fields created in your HubSpot stay in place.
